Myrtle Beach golf vacations – aka “Golf Central”
Like Scotland, Myrtle Beach is synonymous with Golf (minus the kilts, of course).
For those looking to golf in the United States, Myrtle Beach golf vacations are an automatic “default” in terms of finding a location to test out your new golf clubs. Located in South Carolina, Myrtle Beach offers over 100 golf courses, which given its size, is unbelievable!
Surprisingly, there is more to this gorgeous area than golf, which is why Myrtle Beach vacation packages are so popular! There is fine dining, wonderful shopping, and many attractions including plenty of nightlife activities and a water park!
Accommodations with most Myrtle Beach golf packages range in size and location, but all offer spectacular views of either the green courses, or the beautiful sandy beaches, and many of them seem to resemble more of a shore house than a standard hotel. However, because Myrtle Beach is so well known for golf, expect most hotels in the area to offer some form of Myrtle beach golf package.
Some Myrtle Beach Golf Courses to consider
For those heading to Myrtle Beach later this year or possibly in the spring of 2009, do not miss golfing at the newly renovated Pine Lakes Country Club, aka “The Granddaddy”. It’s the oldest and most widely known golf course in the Myrtle Beach area, and is worth taking a swing at. (Note: this particular course boasts starters in kilts, so in this case, you may dust off your kilt and join in the fun!)
Another course worth checking out for your Myrtle Beach golf package is the Arcadian Shores Golf Course. It is the home of the Resort Golf Academy of Myrtle Beach, and located at the Sands Beach Club Condos. It includes 64 sand bunkers and natural lakes. The course is proud to boast that 2 of its holes are part of the Myrtle Beach Dream 18, which is a compilation of the best 18 holes in Myrtle Beach.
Not only do Myrtle Beach golf packages offer plenty of choices in terms of which courses to choose, they offer some of the best choices in golf courses.
Things to do when you aren’t golfing…
Of course, Myrtle Beach vacation packages aren’t all about golf. There is plenty for the whole family or for the couple on a romantic getaway. Myrtle Beach offers an aquarium, water park, plenty of water sports, (this is a beach, remember?), fishing, and plenty more bars and clubs then there are days! For those looking to book more than just the basic golf packages, Myrtle Beach is a great place to consider.

thanks for this great post about Myrtle Beach. I still loving golfing at myrtle after all these years. The prices are unbeatable.
